Change Log, Release Notes, and Feature Updates

Launched in December 2024, Acute serves as a critical weather resource for Central Iowa, providing real-time alerts, accurate forecasts, and essential safety guidance. As we continue to refine our platform, you may encounter occasional issues, as the site is currently in beta. We value your patience as we work to enhance your experience and deliver the most reliable weather insights.

Our commitment at Acute is to provide streamlined, actionable information, keeping you informed and safe with clarity and precision. Thank you for being a part of our journey and supporting us in creating a more reliable weather service for all.

KNOWN LIMITATIONS AND WARNINGS

  • Warning Banners: Currently, warning banners are displayed only on the home page. We're planning to expand this feature to other areas of the site in future updates. Please note, warning banners may occasionally show incorrect hazard data (e.g., triggering for events outside Iowa in counties with similar or identical names).

RECENT RELEASE NOTES AND BUG FIXES

  • Warning Map: Our coding structure has been completely overhauled to enhance performance and reliability. The map now displays only active products for the state in view, and includes a dynamic legend that adapts as conditions change. Plus, it’s optimized for a range of screen sizes—ensuring a seamless experience on any device. City labels have also been added so users have a better visual reference of locations of potential interest.

Thank you for your patience as we continue to improve your experience with Acute. We are committed to refining our system and ensuring it provides the most accurate and timely weather alerts possible.
